Coach Mel brings a deep, proven basketball background shaped by high-level competition, discipline, and leadership at every stage of the game.

A three-time varsity starter at Omaha Northwest High School, Coach LeBranch earned two All-Metro selections and one All-State honor, helping lead his teams to multiple state tournament appearances and setting the foundation for a college career built on consistency and impact.

He continued his development at Central Community College, where he was a two-time All-Region selection and finished his career as the school’s assist leader, establishing himself as a true floor general with a high basketball IQ and team-first mindset.

Coach LeBranch later competed at the University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO), contributing to a National Tournament appearance and an MIAA Conference Championship.

He also played at Grand View University, where he earned All-Conference honors, further expanding his experience across competitive collegiate environments.

In addition, Coach LeBranch competed in Military / Air Force basketball, earning two All-WAMAC selections and setting a single-game record with 15 three-pointers, showcasing elite shooting ability under pressure.

Now as a coach and trainer, Coach LeBranch brings that same edge, accountability, and love for the game into player development. His coaching philosophy centers on fundamentals, decision-making, work ethic, and confidence, preparing athletes not just to play, but to understand the game and compete the right way.

Faith, discipline, and development fuel everything he does on and off the court.
