GENERAL GAME RULES

  • Field length: 40 yards

  • Ball starts on the 40-yard line

  • 20-minute games

  • 1 timeout per game

  • 1 blitz per game

  • No running the ball

  • Player is down by one-hand touch

  • QB has 4 seconds to throw once ball touches his hands

OVER TIME
RULES

  • Games ending in a tie go to OT.

  • Ref selects team to call coin toss.

  • Winner chooses offense or defense first.

  • Ball marked at the 10-yard line.

  • NCAA overtime format

  • Each team receives three attempts at the end zone.

  • Only offensive scoring counts.

  • After 1st OT, teams must attempt 2-point conversions.

  • Possession order alternates each OT.

  • All standard rules and penalties still apply.

AGE DIVISION 
RULES

5/6 Grade / 12U

  • Must be in the current 6th grade or lower, OR

  • Must be 12 years old or younger

7/8 Grade / 14U

  • Must be in the current 8th grade or lower, OR

  • Must be 14 years old or younger

Freshman / 15U

​

Must be in the current 9th grade or lower, OR

  • Must be 15 years old or younger

High School / 18U

​

Must be in the 11th grade or lower

  • NO SENIORS ALLOWED

High School Senior Division

Open to all high school players, including current seniors

Age Limits

  • Athletes cannot be older than 18 years old at the time of the tournament.

TEAMS & COACHES RULES

  • Maximum 18 players per team

  • Players must remain on the sideline during games

  • 4 coaches per team (free entry)

  • 1 offensive coach allowed on the field during offense

SCORING
RULES

  • Touchdown: 6 points

  • PAT from 5-yard line: 1 point

  • PAT from 10-yard line: 2 points

  • Defensive stop: 2 points

  • Interception: 3 points (no returns)

  • Ball after INT placed on 40-yard line

  • Turnover on PAT = dead ball, no points

  • Defensive stop/INT at end of game still counts

TOURNAMENT SEEDING

Teams are seeded for Day 2 based on:

  • Win/Loss Record

  • Head-to-Head Results

  • Point Differential

OFFENSE

RULES

  • 3 downs to gain a first down (at 25-yard & 10-yard lines)

  • Start every drive at 40-yard line (middle of field)

  • No 4th downs

  • Only 5 skill players eligible

  • Center must remain on a knee; cannot receive a pass

  • After scoring:

  • 1 point attempt from 5-yard line

  • 2 points from 10-yard line

  • No running on any down

  • First player to receive snap = QB

  • All passes must cross line of scrimmage

  • No second forward pass

  • Laterals allowed only after a completed pass

  • No blocking — 5-yard penalty + loss of down

  • Fumbles past LOS = dead ball

  • Offense retrieves their own ball each play

  • Legal formations required

  • Substitutions must enter behind formation

OFFENSE
PENALTIES

  • False Start = Loss of Down

  • Delay of Game = Loss of Down

  • 25 seconds to snap after ball is marked ready

  • Offensive Pass Interference = 5 yards + loss of down

  • Penalties at 40-yard line = loss of down only

  • Back-to-back delay penalties = change of possession + 2 points to defense

  • Dead-ball penalty after TD = no extra point attempt

  • Running the ball = loss of down; on 3rd down → turnover

DEFENSIVE
PENALTIES

  • Off-sides = play blown dead + 5 yards

  • Defensive PI = 10 yards + automatic 1st down

  • Defensive holding = 10 yards + automatic 1st down

  • Inside 10-yard line = half distance + automatic 1st down

  • PI on extra point = ball moved half distance but value stays same

  • Dead-ball penalty after change of possession = loss of down for offense

  • Defense must avoid contact

  • Dead-ball defensive penalties = 15 yards or half distance + automatic 1st down

  • Game cannot end on a defensive penalty

  • Tackling / unnecessary roughness =15 yards, automatic 1st down and possible ejection

  • Jamming allowed only between waist & shoulders

  • Excessive contact = unnecessary roughness

Weather Policy

WEATHER POLICY 

  • No refund will be provided if any games are played. 

  • Partial refund will be provided if the tournament is canceled before the start due to weather, provided in the amount of 50% of the total registered cost.

GENERAL REFUND POLICY 

This is in regard to refunds offered, that are not related to the weather refund policy cited above. 

  • 100% refund if the host cancels the event without rescheduling. 

  • No refund will be provided for any reason (other than host cancellation/weather policy cited previously) after registration has been completed.
